One serving will equal to about 190 calories, but please keep in mind that the calorie amount will differ depending on the brands you choose to use.Try and use the lowest calorie options you can find in the supermarket by looking at the nutritional information on the packaging.
You also don’t have to use apples if you don’t want to, the maple syrup will caramelise whatever fruit you like!
For the sugar free maple syrup, I use the brand Queen, which I purchase from Coles.
I use the YoPro strawberry flavoured yogurt, which I also purchase from Coles or Aldi. It tastes amazing, is low in calories and is also packed full of protein.
This recipe is for 1 serving and is approximately 190 calories per serving.
Ingredients
0.5 white tortilla
0.5 small apple
1.5 tablespoons sugar free maple syrup
1 tablespoon strawberry flavoured yogurt
0.5 teaspoon of unsalted butter
Method
- Chop the apple into small chunks and fry in a saucepan with the butter until the apple begins to brown.
- Turn the heat down slightly and add the maple syrup to the apples and let the apples begin to caramelise. Make sure to stir the apples to prevent burning and ensure an even coating. Cook for roughly 2 minutes. The apple mixture will get really sticky.
- Slice the tortilla in half and spread the strawberry yogurt evenly on top.
- Place the apple mixture in the centre of the wrap and fold into a pocket.
- Place the wrap back in the saucepan to crisp the tortilla. You may need to add a little more butter to prevent the tortilla from sticking.
- When the tortilla is crispy and golden on each side, remove and serve!
